  • Who's on first?

One of  my closest friends here is Lindsay. Her son Jake is a favorite of Nathan. Actually they are both favorites of Nathan. I've started calling Lindsay his girlfriend because he is obssessed with her.

She's been out of town for a few days and Nathan has missed her and her kids. I spoke to her on the phone today and Nathan insisted I call her back so that he could speak to her too. I knew she would give him a few minutes on the phone so I dialed her number and gave him the phone.

I could hear that her voice mail picked up the call. I told hiim that when he heard the beep, he had to say hi. He heard the beep and said hello..then silence. That was the only sensical moment of the conversation.

    • Me: "Tell her who it is."
    • Nathan: "Who it is."
    • Me (emphasizing and a tad louder): "No, tell her WHO it is"
    • Nathan: "WHO it is!"
    • Me: "Nathan, tell her it's Nathan."
    • Nathan: "It's Nathan."
    • Me: "Tell her you miss her"
    • Nathan: "You miss her."

I gave up and had him say goodbye. I LOVE that kid...times like this make me wish he'd stay 4 forever!

  • Spring Break 2010

Matthew and Nathan both had break the week after Easter and we had the most amazing vacation! We decided to head down to Orlando and visit the Kennedy Space Center, see Shamu, head to the beach, and just get away.

It was simply fantastic. The boys had so much fun and as a family, we enjoyed every single day. The only negative was that it went by too quickly!

The pictures tell the story better than I can. Enjoy!

A few days before we headed south, we found out there was a Shuttle Launch scheduled for Monday the 19th. This program is about to end and so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to see a launch in person and share it with the boys. This picture doesn't do it justice, but we were on the beach at Patrick AFB and saw and heard the launch. Amazing!

  • Introducing Regan Madeline

What a privilege to spend a week in Garden City, KS enjoying the newest miracle in our family, Regan Madeline Friess.

She was born 2/19/10 and I got to go spend a week with her and Rachel and Philip. Regan was 5, turning 6 weeks old while I was there and it was amazing to see how very much she changed in the one week I visited!

Garden City was um..let's call it charming. Rachel and Philip have this cute little house that they've decorated and made very nice. I know they're really happy with this life they've built, it just sucks they're so far away from everyone else (this from the girl who has never lived within 1000 miles of Okla excpet for Andy's remote. Ha!).

Regan is very opinionated and sports a hairdo reminiscent of Matthew at that age. She has gigantic blue eyes, loves to watch/hear you talk, and went from just hanging out to actually smiling while I was there. In fact, I got her very first smile ever. It made the entire trip worth while! Big, wet, baby, gummy smiles are the best and she was full of them the last night/morning I was there.

We all love her but those smiles just melted me and I look forward to many, many years of spoiling her. I also know deep in my heart that Regan's going to give back to Rachel everything she dished out and I can. not. wait.

Of course the cameras were going the entire week I was there so here are a few pics of our week together...Regan Madeline and her most favorite greatest Auntie ever!

About 2 seconds after I got there...I got my hands on that baby!

    Aunt Maddy

    Miss big eyes.

    My sweet girl!

I couldn't hold her enough...well until she got hungry then I had to admit defeat. lol

And the first smile we caught on camera...she sorta likes her mom a lot. ;)
